You made magic happen last week. And, we’re counting on you to help make it happen again!

Last week, a community member in Charlotte contacted us with a gracious offer: He would match, dollar-for-dollar, every dollar we raised up to $1,000. Because of you, we made the goal and turned $1,000 of your generous contributions into $2,000 for this year’s Charlotte Pride. We want you to help us make magic again, by donating to help us raise another $2,000 by next Tuesday!

Your loyalty to Charlotte Pride couldn’t come at a better time: Last Friday, we made an historic announcement! Charlotte Pride will present the first Pride parade in the Queen City since 1994. Come August, the Queen City will play host to its first-ever all-local Pride parade under the auspices of Charlotte Pride. And, YOU can help make it happen!

Members of the Charlotte Pride Executive Committee have banded together to donate a collective $1,000 match to every cent raised over the next seven days. Our committee members will match your donation dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000. The funding is needed now more than ever, as Charlotte Pride makes plans to present the biggest, brightest and best Pride the Queen City has ever seen!

Your generous donation of $25 could become $50. Your contribution of $100 or $200 could double to $200 or $400. All you have to do is donate before the end of our 30-day $5,500 fundraising campaign. If you help us raise $1,000 more dollars before Tuesday, April 9, 11:59 p.m., our committee members will match it and we’ll have another glorious $2,000 raised toward bringing you the best Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade you’ve ever seen!

So, the clock is ticking… click here to head over to our IndieGoGo fundraising page and donate today! Every dollar counts!

About the Charlotte Pride Parade

Charlotte Pride announced on Friday, March 29, that it will host its first-ever local Charlotte Pride Parade on Aug. 25, 2013, in Uptown Charlotte. The official announcement was made during a fundraiser at The Scorpio, one of Charlotte Pride’s 2013 Presenting Sponsors.

The parade, which will run on Tryon St., is the first Pride parade to be locally planned and implemented by Charlotte Pride, the Queen City’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBT) Pride organization. The parade is also the first since the statewide N.C. Pride Festival and Parade visited Charlotte in 1994. Charlotte Pride has presented Pride festivals in Charlotte since 2000.

More information on parade entries, floats, marching contingents and other parade logistics will be announced soon.
