2017 Charlotte Pride Interfaith Service

August 20 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

During the 2016 Charlotte Pride Interfaith Service, clergy members from over 25 different faith organizations expressed how “Our Community is a Rainbow of People.” Using the colors of the Pride rainbow/flag and the trans flag, the pastors talked about justice, religious freedom being used to oppress people, making Charlotte a safe city for everyone, honoring each other, courage, endurance, support against HB2, education, empathy, hope, and moving forward together.

This year, our focus will be The Power Of Love! This service will include a call to worship from the Jewish faith tradition with messages of love and inclusion form various faith leaders along with a welcome from a City of Charlotte leader. Choral elements will be performed by the Caldwell Presbyterian Gospel Choir and prove to be moving and inspiring as we move along our journey of Love for all people.

Over the past few years, the Interfaith Service has grown exponentially, both in the number of clergy members participating and in the number of people attending the service. We want that growth to continue in 2018.

This service is a time for the LGBTQIA community to experience support and love from these open and affirming faith organizations. And it is a great way to kick off Charlotte Pride Week!

Please join us this year on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 4:00 PM at Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Rd., inside Shalom Park in Charlotte. A reception with refreshments will be provided following the service.
