Pride Charlotte ramps up 2012 festivities with second annual Gay Splash Day on June 16
For the second year, Pride Charlotte has teamed up with the U.S. National Whitewater Center to present Gay Splash Day, on Saturday, June 16, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Join community members for a day of whitewater fun in the sun, along with the first ever Brew Stash Bash, a Carolina craft brewery tasting with performances by the Farewell Drifters, Brown Birdand Cory Chisel & the Wandering Sons.
Gay Splash Day and musical performances are free and open to the public. Craft beer tasting begins at 1 p.m. on Belmont Abbey Island. Sampling tickets will be available for purchase at $5 for 4 tickets. Each ticket is good for one sample of beer; four tickets can be used to redeem a full pint.
In addition to food from River’s Edge Bar & Grill, specialty nachos (Kickin’ Baja Chicken, Aloha BBQ Pork and Thai’ed Up Tofu) will be available from our Pride Charlotte festival style food station at the base of the footbridge to Belmont Abbey Island.
