In their new role, Nada will support Charlotte Pride’s growing community programs, including Charlotte Latinx Pride, Charlotte Trans Pride, and Charlotte Women’s Pride. Nada joins Charlotte Pride after more than five years of nonprofit, political, student, and grassroots organizing experience. Nada is the first black femme person hired onto Charlotte Pride’s staff.
Jaimie Sanita (she/her/hers) joins as Charlotte Pride’s new Development Associate. Jaimie will manage the organization’s current fundraising and development efforts and help craft a more robust fundraising strategy to support our growing programs and year-round initiatives. A newcomer to the Queen City, Jaimie joins the organization after five years of work as an educator, activist, and social justice specialist.
Jaimie and Nada will work closely with Charlotte Pride’s existing staff, Programs and Development Director Jerry Yelton (he/him/his or they/them/theirs) and Communications Director Matt Comer (he/him/his), as well as with members of the board and the newly expanded volunteer leadership teams for the festival, parade, and various program teams.
Daniel Valdez (he/him/his), president of the Charlotte Pride Board of Directors, welcomed Nada and Jaimie, citing the organization’s continued growth and focus on community programs.
“We are excited to welcome Nada and Jaimie to our team,” Valdez said. “Our organization’s growing staff and volunteer leadership enables Charlotte Pride to be better equipped to fulfill our mission and serve our community. We look forward to the new perspectives, identities, and energy Jaimie and Nada will bring to our programs and community-building efforts.”
