Spring Spotlight: Drag & DJ, May 23
Charlotte Pride concludes its Spring Spotlight with its sixth night, tonight, Saturday, May 23rd. We’ve been hosting a full week of highlighting and supporting awesome LGBTQ artists and entertainers during COVID-19. Our final night tonight promises a very special and fun time for all!
Starting at 6pm tonight on our Facebook page at facebook.com/cltpride, we’ll showcase the talents of several drag performers!
Then, immediately following that, at 7pm, we encourage you to tune into the CLT United Virtual Drag Show. Representatives of the Charlotte drag community have gotten together to bring to you CLT United, proudly presenting to you an online event showcasing and highlighting our local queens of color from the Charlotte drag community and beyond.! Buff Faye is currently the 2019-20 titleholder for National Entertainer of the Year (EOY), FI. She is proud to be an active, visible leader in her community of Charlotte, NC. Known as a “charity queen,” Buff Faye has raised money for many national and local charities including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Safe Alliance, R.A.I.N. and Campus Pride. Buff Faye is Ms Charlotte Pride 2015.
Cory Caleb is high energy entertainer based outnumber of Charlotte North Carolina. Cory is the reigning Mx Charlotte Pride and is so excited to be able to share the virtual stage with the amazingly talented cast and bring a little bit of joy into these uncertain times.

DeVida, the self proclaimed Broadway Belter of the Bible Belt is a former Miss North Carolina America and the current reigning Ms Charlotte Pride. DeVida lives in the Hickory area with her husband of 21 years and their six year old son Malachi. GISELLE CASSIDY CARTER
Giselle Cassidy Carter is a Greensboro native. She has been doing female impersonation for 6 years. She has traveled all over the U.S. sharing her passion for performing and the art form. She has also captured many state titles over the years. She is your current Miss Gay Capital City America, Miss Charlotte Black Pride and also Mx Stonewall 2019.
Kassandra Hylton is from the Queen City and a former Ms Charlotte Pride 2014. She is an advocate for transgender awareness who speaks at local colleges and Pride events for the LGBTQ+ community. A well-known East Coast entertainer, she is the current reigning West Virginia All American Goddess with a deep desire and aspiration to capture the national title at her upcoming pageant.

Kristin Collins has been entertaining in the Charlotte area for 27 years. She was Ms. Charlotte Pride 2018 and continues to work with Charlotte Pride on the Drag Team. She works locally at Buff Faye’s Drag Brunch, and other charity brunches across the state.
Lolita Chanel is Charlotte’s premier plus size Glamour queen. Using her platform in drag, Lolita promotes a message of body positivity and self love; while also breaking down stereotypes for big girls and the Latinx community.
PARIS NICOLE BROOKS BONET
Paris Nicole Brooks Bonet is a female illusionist born and raised in Raleigh, N.C. She enjoy traveling all over the country and is well-known for her vogue/dance abilities and her award-winning Anita Baker impersonations. Paris is the current Miss Charlotte Black Pride Sweetheart.
Ricky Haggerty Knight-Addams
Ricky Haggerty Knight-Addams has been in the artform of male entertainment for 5 years now, as he has a love for entertainment for most of his life. This 31-year-old performer has a passion to entertain and spread love and he prides himself on his dance abilities. Ricky is a very competitive person. He puts his abilities to the test as a competitor in the Male Pageant arena and personal life. He holds a past title of Mr. Charlotte Latinx Pride and is the current Mr. Charlotte Pride. Ricky looks forward to a broader field in the entertainment industry as he has so much to offer following the steps of his drag mothers Arabia Knight Addams and Mohka Montress and his father is Kyle Haggerty. Ricky, entertain at club all over NC, SC, Ohio, N.Y, VA and DC. He would like to leave you with this thought “Your life is what you make of it… so make the best of it and be the best, as only you are in charge of it.”
DJ FANNIE MAE
“A purveyor of deep, infectious southern sh*t mixed with feel-good energy.” That’s how Fannie Mae describes herself as a DJ. Never afraid to take you on an audible journey though time and space, her emotive musical selections are her own therapy. Having grown up in the church playing instruments, she has an eclectic music combination of funk, gospel, hip hop, soul, afrobeats and more. She stared perfecting her craft while working at an African Bar in Tokyo, Japan, falling in love the DJing even more. Fannie had ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Originally from North Carolina, Fannie has spent her life writing songs, spinning records, and being an advocate for the arts. With a deep love of music she is looking forward to sharing enegertic moments of love with beautiful people around the world.
Neuron Husky is the psyberpunk canine alter ego of DJ/producer Aria Arus. Biochemist by day and sonic alchemist by night – Neuron Husky is always experimenting in the lab be it filled with speakers or beakers, tirelessly curating and concocting unique genre-breaking blends of funky heavy-hitting basslines, cerebral soundscapes, and trance-inducing grooves that take its listeners to another world. From music festivals to burns to anime conventions, Neuron Husky has rocked many dancefloors with her eclectic and fiery arsenal of drum & bass, psytrance, hardstyle, future bass, and electro. Since 2015, Neuron Husky has gained recognition as both an electronic musician and installation artist, as she has been known to design the very stages she performs on. On her own turf she is backed up by the collaborative Source Code Studios which specializes in constructing immersive psychedelic landscapes around the dancefloor. Together they generate a mesmerizing, one-of-a-kind, radical audio-visual experience that will be sure to rock your brain-case.
