Charlotte, N.C. — Charlotte Pride, the local non-profit organization which produces the annual Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade each August, has released its official 2019 limited-edition T-shirt with partner Glory Days Apparel.

“This year’s official Charlotte Pride T-shirt and its colorful and quirky typographic design will serve as a visible and creative symbol of the beautiful diversity in the Queen City, including Charlotte’s growing LGBTQ and ally community,” said Matt Comer, Charlotte Pride’s communications director. “I’m looking forward to seeing members of our community adorned in these T-shirts, showing their hometown and LGBTQ Pride!”

A limited quantity of this year’s Official Charlotte Pride T-Shirt will be produced and sold, with proceeds from the sale of the shirt directly benefiting the programs of Charlotte Pride, including the annual festival and parade set for Aug. 17-18, 2019, in Uptown Charlotte. In addition to the festival and parade, Charlotte Pride also presents year-round programs, events and activities through Charlotte Latinx Pride, Charlotte Trans Pride and Reel Out Charlotte, the Queen City’s Annual LGBTQ Film Festival.

JD Harris, owner of Glory Days Apparel, began his business in March 2016, leaving a corporate job to work with the Charlotte community and create products to represent the intense pride Charlotteans have for their city.

“Glory Days Apparel’s core values recognize everyone as equals,” Harris said. “Our brand is very community focused and we’re always looking to uplift, help, and encourage others through our brand. From the beginning, Glory Days Apparel’s foundation has been to help enrich our community and give back.”

Glory Days Apparel was chosen as the Official 2019 Charlotte Pride Merchandiser after a competitive bidding process earlier this year. The T-shirt is designed by Cody Weiler and will be produced and sold in partnership with Charlotte Pride by Glory Days Apparel.

The Official Charlotte Pride T-Shirt will be available for purchase at $30 each.

The T-shirt will first be available for purchase at this year’s Reel Out Charlotte, the Queen City’s Annual LGBTQ Film Festival, slated for April 28-May 5, 2019, at Camp North End, 1824 Statesville Ave. A full schedule of film screenings and special events, as well as ticket sales, are available online at reelout.org.

Sales of the shirt will continue at official Charlotte Pride events now through June 15, after which sales of the T-shirt will also be available online at glorydaysapparel.com and at official Glory Days Apparel pop-up shops throughout the Charlotte area. Dates and locations of Glory Days Apparel pop-up events are available online at glorydaysapparel.com/pages/events.
