Visual Arts
Charlotte Pride has partnered with local gay artist Edwin Gil, with support from the Arts & Science Council and NC Arts, to produce several collaborative and participatory community arts projects. A large-scale mural consisting of thousands of glass tiles collected during a Pride festival with community finger prints is installed at the Charlotte Pride office. A second project, six panels depicting the Charlotte skyline, was jointly painted by community members at a Pride festival.

Flourish
Each year, LGBTQ community arts organizations join forces to create an artistic “festival within a festival” during the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade. “Flourish: A Celebration of LGBTQ Arts + Culture” includes participation from local choral groups, musical groups, photographers and other artists. Stay tuned for more information on this year’s Flourish line of events during the 2018 Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade.
