Charlotte’s largest annual parade commemorates more than 50 years of LGBTQ Liberation. Join us in Uptown as we celebrate 20+ years of Charlotte Pride and 40+ years of Pride Movement legacy in the Queen City!
Parade details
The Bank of America Charlotte Pride Parade will stop off at N. Tryon St. and 9th St. It will run south on Tryon St. toward 4th St. The parade emcee stage will be located at 4th and Tryon Sts. The parade will disband on College St. between 4th and Trade Sts.

Getting There
Charlotte Pride encourages the use of public transit, such as CATS buses and the LYNX Blue Line, to arrive in Uptown. Driving traffic during the weekend will be heavy. Take pride in public transit!

VOLUNTEER FAQS
The two-day festival is Saturday, Aug. 19 and Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023. The parade is Sunday, Aug. 20. We’ll start closing down Tryon Street and setting everything up on Friday, Aug. 18.
We have volunteer opportunities for every age and every ability. Here’s a quick overview of the kinds of volunteer jobs we’ll have:
- Operational and logistical/set-up/tear-down support
- Beverage ticket sales
- Beverage station staffing/bartending
- Parade staging
- VIP experience set-up, staffing, and tear-down
- and more!
Yes! This event is an especially good opportunity for employee resource groups, clubs, or organizations who want to volunteer together! We’ll have multiple volunteer roles and shifts that can accommodate groups of 10-20 volunteers. If you are with an ERG, club, or other group or organization, please email volunteer@charlottepride.org.
You can sign up now! We’ve launched the sign-up form for festival volunteer shifts, so make sure to pick your spot soon!
Yes! Absolutely! Please do! We’ll need plenty of help the weekend of! Stop by our Volunteer Tent at the corner of S. Tryon Street and Third Street to volunteer anytime during the festival weekend!
Information & Instructions for Volunteers
Thank you for volunteering with the Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade! We are so so happy and grateful you’re joining us! We’re going to have a great time together while working to give back to a great cause. Our team has worked hard to make sure we have everything you need at our Volunteer Tent to make your volunteer experience awesome! We’ll have food and meals, snacks, refreshments, your volunteer t-shirt, gifts and giveaways, and more!
Here is some basic information you’ll need:
Check-in: Volunteer check-in will be on-site at the Volunteer Tent at the corner of S. Tryon Street and Third Street. When you arrive on-site, please make your way to the Volunteer Tent to get checked in and receive your volunteer shirt. We’ll help you get to your volunteer spot!
Parking & Transportation: We encourage folks to park off-site in any of the numerous decks or parking lots in Uptown. A better option might also be taking the light rail, bus, or street car. Unfortunately, we cannot provide parking.
Participation/Volunteer Waiver: All volunteers must sign our volunteer/participation waiver. It is available online. Click here to view the form and apply today.
Volunteers under 18: All volunteers must be aged 14 or older. Volunteers under 18 must have their parent(s)/guardian(s) sign our volunteer/participation waiver online, or may check-in at the Volunteer Tent with a parent or guardian present with them.
