Programs Coordinator
Charlotte Pride, the leading advocate for LGBTQ visibility in Charlotte and the Carolinas, is seeking an experienced Programs Coordinator with an intersectional perspective. Join us in implementing impactful programming that uplifts the LGBTQ community in Charlotte and surrounding regions. As Programs Coordinator, you will be an essential member of our staff and planning teams, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and partners. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of experience in complex event/program management and in LGBTQ community organizing.
The Programs Coordinator will get to know all components of Charlotte Pride’s work, with a specific focus on managing the planning efforts of the organization’s events and programs. This person will report to the Director of Development and the Charlotte Pride Board of Directors.
Responsibilities of the role include:
-Take ownership of a designated portion of Charlotte Pride’s programs, including but not limited to:
- Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade
- Job Fair
- Community tabling events
- Reel Out Charlotte
- Scholarship Program
- Volunteer management, organizing, and meeting planning and execution, including monthly meeting planning and presentations
- Explore opportunities to reinvigorate Charlotte Pride affinity groups such as Women’s Pride, Latinx Pride, and Trans Pride
-Recruit, organize, and coordinate volunteers to manage program tasks and goals effectively
-Host informative sessions and team meetings to gather community input and guide event and program outcomes
-Manage end-to-end event planning, including scheduling, registration management, and reservations
-Help develop and schedule LGBTQ Institute workshops

Skills and experience necessary for the role include:
-Has at least one-two years of large-scale project management
-Skilled in volunteer management and adept at handling sensitive situations with care
-Self-starter with flexible schedule, capable of in-person and remote staff coordination
-Experienced programs associate committed to detail-oriented and thoughtful work, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results
-Comfortable with a varied schedule, with some evening and weekend work
-Nights and weekends required, especially during the summer
-Preference may be given to individuals who are multilingual, especially those fluent in spoken and written Spanish

Compensation:
Compensation for this role is between $45,000-$50,000 based on experience and includes a benefits package.
